More Road Closures For Filming

Sections of the TT course will close in the week before the Manx Grand Prix, with some residents saying the build up now feels like a three week period.

As well as the closure on Lezayre Road, part of Cronk‑y‑Voddy will shut for two days for filming of the TT feature film Isle of Man.

The production will use stunt riders and TT‑style equipment, requiring full road closures.

The closures fall immediately before the MGP’s own schedule, adding pressure for road users, residents, businesses and farmers during one of their busiest weeks of the year.

The confirmed closures are:

  • Poortown Road to Cronk‑y‑Voddy Crossroads – August 13: 06:00–21:00 and 14 August: 06:00–20:00
  • Poortown Road to Douglas Road Corner – August 13: 18:00–21:00
  • Ballabeg to Ballacraine – August 13: 10:00–16:00
  • Poortown Road to Ballagawne Road (Raggatt / London Road / Weighbridge) – August 13: 10:00–16:00 and August 14: 10:00–16:00

The closures are not part of the Manx Grand Prix, but their timing means restrictions will run straight into the MGP period, extending disruption for many who rely on these routes.
