The mountain road will be closed tomorrow morning for tree felling following damage from Storm Bert.
An inspection from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture found two very large trees have become unstable as a result of the storm.
It says the trees are in significant danger of falling and if they were do so, they would fall onto the carriageway.
Closure for Tree Felling
DEFA has indicated that the trees have to be felled as soon as practicable and has arranged this for tomorrow morning (November 28).
To do this safely, the northern section of the Mountain Road will close to the public from 9:30am.
The closure will be from the junction with Barrule Park, in Ramsey to the Bungalow.
Although the order allows the road to be closed until 3:30pm, it is anticipated, should there be no unexpected issues that the work will be completed and road reopened by lunchtime.
Access to the businesses at the Bungalow will be maintained from the Tholt Y Will Road and Douglas.
The Mountain Road from the Creg Ny Baa to the Bungalow will not be affected and will remain open.
