The DoI has announced that the Mountain Road will remain shut until 10am tomorrow morning.
It has been closed due to snow overnight into Friday.
The DoI said: “Conditions across the 14 miles between the Creg Ny Baa and Ramsey Hairpin vary tremendously and while some areas are virtually snow free others are still in poor condition and remain extremely slippy due to snow, meaning the route as a whole is unfit for traffic.”
The road is therefore closed between Creg Ny Baa & Ramsey Hairpin.
There will be a further inspection of the route early morning on Saturday.
