MSPCA Taking Donations of Electric Collars

Local animal charity, the ManxSPCA is seeking donations of unwanted shock collars from pet owners.

These devices will not be used on animals but will instead be held as part of an educational display to raise awareness.

Electric collars are training tools that remain legal yet controversial in animal welfare.

Electric Collar Awareness

The charity understands that many owners purchase these devices with the belief that they are an effective training tool.

However, owners often after purchasing the collars do seek more positive and humane alternatives later on.

It wants assure the public that it will not judge anyone who donates a shock collar.

Responsible Training

As part of it’s 2025 campaign, it aims to highlight the continued legality of devices such as shock collars, which can cause pain and distress.

By showcasing these items, it hopes to inform the public, encourage responsible training choices, and advocate for improved animal welfare standards.

If you have a shock collar that you no longer use, do consider donating it to the ManxSPCA.

It added: “Together, we can help educate and promote better training solutions for dogs on the Isle of Man.”
