The MSPCA has launched a petition calling on Tynwald to ban the use of shock collars on the island.
Used to train dogs, research has shown the collars cause anxiety in animals and are considered cruel by many.
The charity said: “Electric shock collars cause unnecessary pain and distress to animals and have no place in responsible pet ownership.
“On the Isle of Man, these devices are still legal, and our animals remain unprotected.”
It is also seeking an MHK to take up its cause and present its petition to Tynwald once it has finished collecting signatures.
