Nedbank Appoints New Head of Private Banking

Nedbank Private Wealth has appointed Karim Chowdhury as Head of Private Banking for the Isle of Man.

He joins the firm from Union Bancaire Privée, where he served as Director of Private Banking.

Chowdhury brings more than 15 years’ experience in private banking and wealth management, having held senior roles across the UK, Jersey and Bermuda.

His previous positions include Vice President, Private Banking at Butterfield Group, as well as managerial roles at Schroders Personal Wealth and HSBC Expat.

Based in the Isle of Man, he will report to Simon Gibbons, Executive Head of Wealth Management, and will lead the local private banking team, with a focus on relationship-led support for clients.

On his appointment, Karim Chowdhury, said: “Understanding the evolving needs of our clients and their families is key to helping them achieve their long-term financial goals.

Chowdhury joined Nedbank Private Wealth on January 5. His appointment is subject to FSA regulatory approval.
