Neonatal Unit Celebrates 10 Years

Manx Care staff, supporters, and special guests gathered to mark a decade since the opening of ‘the new’ Neonatal Unit.

Last Friday’s (July 4) event celebrated the service which has supported hundreds of families through their earliest and most delicate moments.

The celebration was attended by representatives from Arlo’s Adventure and the Henry Bloom Noble Healthcare Trust; charities that have supported the unit for a number of years.

Former Chief Minister and Minister for Health and Social Care, Howard Quayle CBE, who officially opened the facility ten years ago was also in attendance.

Ten Years of Neonatal Unit

The very first child to receive care in the unit, Evie-Rose Hill, returned to cut the anniversary cake.

Evie-Rose was joined by her parents, Kerry and Martin, and her grandparents, for this special moment.

Manx Care says that the event was a “moving reminder of the dedication and compassion that has defined the unit over the past ten years, and a celebration of the lives it has helped shape”.
