New artwork to be presented at the Community Health Service

Experts by Experience are holding a presentation of artwork at the Community Mental Health Service for Adults (CMHSA) tomorrow (January 26).

The presentation will take place between 5pm and 6pm.

Artwork

The group acquired funding from the Isle of Man Arts Council in June 2022, and have subsequently facilitated an art project to improve the reception area and consulting area at the Central Community Health Centre.

The artwork has been installed to make the environment more welcoming for service users and colleagues at the centre on Westmoreland Road, Douglas.

Members of Experts by Experience will be in attendance to answer any queries you may have about their group.

Should you not be able to attend, but have questions, Jenny and Alex from the group are contactable via phone on 01624 686313.

Mental health service

The CMHSA provides a specialist mental health service.

The island-wide service can see people in their own home, along with at its centre in Douglas.

The team at CMHSA is a multi-disciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, criminal justice mental health lead and support workers.

Initial contact with the CMHSA is typically instaged by the GP.

Referrals are managed by the Duty and Referral Team at the centre.
