Manx Wildlife Trust has announced that Graham Makepeace-Warne will replace Leigh Morris as Chief Executive Officer.
Leigh Morris will step down after over five years leading the island’s conservation charity.
Graham officially takes up the role in June 2025 and brings a wealth of experience and “passion” to the position.

Graham has worked at MWT since the start of 2018, and is currently the Head of Engagement.
During his time at MWT, he has played a pivotal role in developing MWT’s public engagement, building strategic partnerships, and leading major fundraising and advocacy campaigns.
Speaking about his new role, Graham said: “It’s a tremendous honour to lead Manx Wildlife Trust at such a crucial time for nature.”
Environmental Recovery
He added: “The Isle of Man is uniquely placed to be a beacon for environmental recovery, and I’m excited to build on our successes—restoring habitats, protecting our wildlife, and working with our community to inspire action for nature.
“I want to thank Leigh Morris for his inspirational leadership and mentorship, and I look forward to having the opportunity to continue working with him in his new role with The Wildlife Trusts.
“I’m also relishing the prospect of working more closely with our amazing and dedicated team, Trustees, members, volunteers and partners to deliver our vision of an island rich in wildlife where nature matters to all.”
Local Action
MWT’s strategy sets out clear ambitions: to create a Nature Recovery Network across land and sea, to scale up Nature-Based Solutions, and to connect one in four people in the island to nature through local action for wildlife.
Graham’s leadership will focus on delivering these goals while strengthening advocacy, partnerships, and sustainable funding to support long-term impact.
