New Composting Toilet for Bird Watchers

Manx BirdLife has unveiled a new composting toilet at the Point of Ayre National Reserve.

The facility, installed by Reserve Warden Kate and volunteer Mark, is intended to support visitors and staff spending extended periods at the reserve.

Over recent years, the charity has made several enhancements to the area, but as the charity said, “our latest addition might just be the most useful yet”.

The organisation acknowledged the toilet may lack glamour but emphasised its practical value.

The reserve, located at the northern tip of the Isle of Man, is a key site for breeding and migratory birds.

Manx BirdLife continues to rely on volunteers and wardens to maintain and develop the habitat for wildlife and visitors alike.
