A good news story for a Sunday is really what we all want, and we have the most brilliant one (if you love horses, dogs and country clothing).
Horse and Rider Equestrian Retailer has opened its doors under new ownership and in a new location.
New owner, Anna Higgins held the grand opening of the store in the Millmount Complex yesterday.
Anna opened her first business venture Millmount Equestrian Supplies during Covid, and excelled in stocking and timely delivery of a range of animal feeds, not just for horses.
Country Haven
The new home of Horse and Rider is a breath of fresh air to the Isle of Man and boasts everything any horse addict could desire, and with the friendliest of staff on hand to help.
However, if you never took to horses (I’m jealous, as you’ll no doubt have a much healthier bank account than if you did) don’t let that put you off – the shop stocks all weather clothes which will protect you from the harshest of Manx winters.
It also stocks a large array of goodies for your dogs, and who doesn’t want a fashionable woof?!

Speaking to Manx.News, Anna said: “It’s been a lot of hard graft and countless hours to create the shop, I’m so delighted with how it has all come together!”
“There are so many amazing people to thank but it really couldn’t have been done without Kat Collister, Jennie Cryer, Claire Cope, Andy Faulkner and my ever supportive parents.”
Manx Brands
Not only has the shop been constructed by Manx companies, it also stocks Epico products, that are designed by Manxie, Steph Gardiner.

Steph created Epico a number of years ago and the brand has gone from strength to strength and now creates multiple leggings and base layers.
The Horse & Rider store will be open every day except for Mondays and can be located in Douglas at the Millmount Complex on the New Castletown Road.
