Thomas the Town Cat’s ‘freedom’ ceremony has ‘categorically’ not cost Ramsey residents any money.
Chair of Ramsey Commissioners Rob Cowell says the approach to the festive season is about ‘joy’ and the people are ‘endeared’ to the cat.
It’s hoped that by giving Thomas the status, it will support charitable work organised by businesses in the town.
Mr Cowell says it’s not something he expected to do when he took on the position.
Commissioner Sandra Cottam-Shea hopes he’s help bring in some footfall to the town.
