No Fixed Timescales for Reviewing Test Results at Noble’s

There are no universal time standards for reviewing diagnostic test results at Noble’s Hospital, the Health and Social Care Minister has confirmed.

Responding to a question from Speaker and Rushen MHK Juan Watterson, Health Minister Claire Christian MHK said test results are handled under clinical governance arrangements rather than a single set timeframe.

Reviews are carried out by the clinician responsible for the patient, with urgency determined by the nature of the test, the care setting and the patient’s condition.

Test Result Timescales

The Health Minister said systems are in place to identify and escalate abnormal or high‑risk results, ensuring they are acted on in line with clinical pathways.

Communication with patients varies depending on clinical need and may be delivered face‑to‑face, by phone or in writing.

She added that because clinical situations differ, it is not appropriate to apply fixed timescales, but Noble’s has tracking systems to monitor outstanding results and support timely review where required.
