The sun didn’t shine for the Isle of Man Pony Club’s Autumn One Day Event, but that didn’t stop a successful day for many Manx riders.
On Sunday (September 1) at Andreas Airfield riders participated in dressage, show jumping and cross country over the Manx countryside.
The Pony Club say it is “encouraging to see the high standard of the competitors taking part with some younger members showing exceptional talent”.
One Day Event
Lucy Parsons, who represented the Isle of Man Pony Club in the UK in July won the Chairmans Cup aboard Sheer Diamond.
In the 100 Class, Lindsay Hotchkiss and King of Quality came out on top, followed by Tetrathlete Blae Richardson and Rico Spun Gold in second place, with Sammie Callister and Brandy’s Touch in third.
Rebecca Sowerby and Professor Higgins won the 90cm class, with Sammie Callister being in the placings again picking up second on Cecelia’s Kompany, and Jess Collister finished third on It’s the President.
Isle of Man Pony Club
The 80cm, 70cm and 55cm classes were split into two sections for seniors and juniors.
Tayla Griffin and FVS Toyo Million finished first in the junior section, Hattie Pepper and Burnbank Aphrodite finishing second and Emma Parsons and Regal Fox in third.
In the senior section it was Jenny Forbes who won the class on Annefields Romeo, whilst Lola-Bea Bryce and FVS Cassinis Million came second, followed by Rebecca Le Blond and Evies Supreme in third.
The 70cm junior class was won by Libby Shimmin and Conrhenny Didgerdoo, with Breesha Byers and Caperann Carl in second, followed by her twin sister Annabelle and Doire Mhainaigh in third.
Suzanne Cregeen and Sliabh Lan Bobby won the senior 70cm class.
Evie Grayse Cringle-Preson won the junior 55cm class on Guinness Black Velvet, Alice Teare and Conrhenny Chipmunk finishing second, and Eva Brew and Blue Sue in third.
The senior 55cm was won by Toni Kewley on Landslow Northern Lass, with Barbara Eyres and Rosscon Stevie Wonder finishing second.

The next event will be a fundraising event for the Great North Air Ambulance which is open to everyone.
The event will be a car treasure hunt on Sunday, September 8.
