Ongoing Stud Works

Today the ongoing work to install centre-line road studs will continue on the southern end of the Coast Road.

Works will be from the junction with Church Road, Lonan as far as the junction with King Edward Road (Liverpool Arms).

The road will be closed to through traffic from Church Road, Lonan to the junction at the Liverpool Arms, from 9:30am until no later than 4:30pm.

Diversions

The Department for Infrastructure says that all through traffic between Ramsey and Douglas should use the A18 Mountain Road.

Access to Laxey will also be available at all times from the Mountain Road via Creg ny Baa Back Road and Ballacallister Road.

Access to and from properties within the works area will be available at all times. Other traffic should use the diversionary route.

Scheduled bus services will be marshalled through the closure.

Works May Shift

If good progress is made today it may be possible that the works area may shift southwards later in the day further towards Onchan.

If this is the case there will be a further announcement and there will be a change in traffic management arrangements.

The Department’s line painters have also been working within the are of the closure refreshing centre lining.
