The DoI has spent more than £1.5m on routine and urgent maintenance at Ramsey Cottage Hospital since 2021.
Figures released in response to a written question reveals that urgent “reactive” works over the five-year period totalled £317,327, while routine pre-planned maintenance reached £200,058.
Minor revenue funded projects accounted for the largest share at £372,532.
Minister Tim Crookall, said his department works “in close partnership with Manx Care” but incurs direct costs for activities including pre-planned maintenance, reactive urgent works, grounds maintenance, minor capital works and minor revenue funded projects.
He added: “There has been an increase in the volume of PPM works, particularly within Martin Ward, during the 25/26 financial year, which have been completed whilst these areas have been closed and would not normally be accessible.”
The largest single annual spike came in 2025/26, with pre-planned maintenance alone reaching just £84,719, more than the previous two years combined.
The figures do not include any spending incurred directly by Manx Care, which the department said “is not available” to it.
