Orienteering Event Moves to Archallagan

The Isle of Man Orienteering Klubb is hosting a ‘Come & Try’ orienteering event next week.

The activity will take place at Archallagan Forest on February 7 in support of the Isle of Man World Scout Jamboree Unit.

The venue has changed from Conrhenny Wood due to ongoing tree harvesting.

Orienteering

Participants can choose from three courses, Beginner, Intermediate and Challenge, designed to suit all ages and abilities.

Using a map, competitors must find control flags around the forest and punch their scorecard at each location. All courses close at 12:30pm.

Registration, start and finish will be at the enlarged Southern Car Park on the Eairy Kelly road, with registration from 9:30am to 10:20am and start times between 9:30am and 10:30am.

The family-friendly event is open to walkers and runners, with guidance available for beginners. Children must be supervised by an adult.

Entry costs £4 for adults, £1.50 for under-18s and £8 maximum for a family (two adults and children under 18). Cash only. Proceeds will support the Scout unit’s fundraising efforts to attend the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland.
