Rushen United kept their perfect start to the Canada Life Premier League intact as they won 2-0 away at Old Boys on Saturday afternoon.
Laxey also made it four from four to keep pace at the top as they come from behind to beat Ayre at Glen Road.
The Spaniards win came courtesy of two goal from Lochlann Denham, who was an early sub after an injury to Jamie Cadwallader.
Denham’s first goal came in the first half, but the highlight was his second half strike as he megged one defender, beat a second and fired into the far top corner to seal the points.
Miners Dig Deep
Ed Kangah, a summer signing from St Georges, was the hero for Laxey as they come from behind to beat Ayre.
Leading through an early Chris Curtis goal, the tangerines couldn’t add to their tally, with Kangah scoring twice in the second half to see them level on points with Rushen, behind just on goal difference.
The other big clash at the top saw Peel’s Tommy Brown deny Corinthians a win after Sean Doyle had given the Ballafletcher side the lead.
That result leaves Corinthians two points behind the top two, with the defending champions seven behind the leaders.
Elsewhere in the top flight, Onchan beat Ramsey 3-1 at the Nivison Stadium, St John’s beat St Mary’s 3-2 in the battle of the saints and Foxdale were beaten 1-5 at Billy Goat Park by Union Mills.

Town
Castletown already look destined for promotion as they made it four from four in Ardern & Druggan Division Two.
Alex Crawley scored a hat trick, with Oliver Leigh and Rob Teare scoring one each to hand them a 0-5 win against D&D.
Marown also maintained their perfect start as they, as Tom Curphey predicted, beat Pulrose 3-1.
Second placed Colby salvaged a point as they come back to draw 3-3 with Douglas Royal, while Governor’s Athletic and Malew played out a 1-1 draw.
Next weekend will be a big test of both Castletown’s and Marown’s title and promotion credentials as they face each other at Malew Road.
