Farmers are demanding action after dogs killed sheep and cattle.
The Manx National Farmers’ Union says there was “yet another dog attack” on November 5,
A spokesperson said: “Two dogs left to run at large attacked and killed sheep and cattle in the Narradale, Lezayre, area last night.
“One black and one brown, medium to large size dogs that are often left to roam and farmers have previously reported them.”
The NFU says it is the “fourth time” the dogs havebeen known to attack sheep in the area.
“The police are aware of the problem,” said the spokesperson.
“Please, please report these dogs to the police and film them if you see them loose.”
The NFU added that the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture had “not acted” to progress updated livestock protection laws, “which could have prevented further incidents and suffering, and could support the police gathering evidence to prevent this tragic outcome”.
Last year, the MNFU was told the proposed law to give better protection to livestock would not progress because of a legislation backlog.
