The island’s packed motorsport calendar continues this weekend as more than 250 solo and sidecar competitors line up for the Manx 2 Day Trial.
It follows hot on the heels of the British Enduro Championship, the Downhill Skateboarding event and the Southern 100.
With dry weather forecast, organisers say conditions look ideal for two full days of action across some of the Island’s best‑known trials sections.
Solo riders start from Douglas Rugby Club at 8am Saturday, heading south through Gasworks Steps, Knock Froy, Old Stoney Mountain Quarry, South Barrule and Carnagrie before coastal tests at Pooil Vaaish and Scarlett.
Sunday’s northern loop includes Ballachrink, Snaefell Gulley, Ballaugh Plantation, Ballure, Laxey Beach and Axnfell before finishing back at Douglas.
Two Day Trial
Sidecars run the opposite direction, beginning their northern route at 8.45am Saturday with stops at Creg Moto‑x Track, Conrhenny Plantation, Ballacarooin, Glen Roy mines and West Baldwin.
Sunday takes crews south via Chibbanagh, Archallagan, Old Stoney Mountain Quarry, Billown Glen, Scarlett and Port Soderick before a final climb of the Gasworks Steps.
Local interest is strong in the Solo Expert class, with three‑time champion Barry Kinley and Chris Madigan expected to battle again, while Kaytlyn Adshead returns to the event after World Championship duties. In Clubman, Sheffield’s Darren Wasley is favourite to defend his title against a strong Manx contingent.
A new Sidecar champion will be crowned this year, with leading crews including Elliott & Graham Tickner, Rupert Kimber & Aaron Jacobs, and Stuart Riches & Richard Tickner, alongside local pairings Will Caine & Sam Baxter and John Corlett & Harry Gell.
