Richard Whitehead MBE, who has won European, World and Olympic titles as a Paralympian competed in yesterday’s Ramsey marathon.
The 49-year-old’s successes were in sprint events on the track, mainly 200 metres, but in recent times he has become a prolific Marathon runner.
On Sunday (August 10) morning, Richard, who is a double amputee who runs on blades, clocked a time of 3:14:12 on the testing two-lap course in the north of the island.

The Manx race was part of Richard’s epic challenge of running 20 marathons all over the world in 2025 and will be marathon number 13.
The end of the challenge will bring Richard to an amazing total of completing 100 marathons in his career, and the challenge will finish at the start of November in New York.
