Curraghs Wildlife Park has welcomed a new female yellow mongoose who’s just arrived from the UK.
Sandy, the one at the back of the photo who looks more red in colour, joins resident male Vita.
Yellow Mongoose are sometimes referred to as the ‘Red meerkat’ and live in the Southern part of the African continent.
Often overlapping with Meerkats territory, they even sometimes share burrows!
The Park said: “We used to have an all male group, however as they have aged we’ve been left with one male so this was a good time to introduce a female.
“Sandy is 8-years-old, both are close in age and it was a good time to bring two older singletons together as company for each other.
“Will we hear the pitter patter of tiny mongoose paws? Well they may be getting on in age but we can’t rule it out!”
