40-year-old Nick Perkins has been recognised for his exceptional courage and bravery in the Chief Constable’s Annual Awards Ceremony.
Nick was recognised after he selflessly entered the water in Laxey to save a life in April.
As Nick resides in Australia, his father Martyn Perkins and his twin sister, Sergeant Emily Perkins, accepted the award on his behalf.
This is not the first time Nick has risked his own safety to help others.
In 2017, he bravely entered croc-infested waters to rescue multiple people.
The Isle of Man Constabulary says “his remarkable heroism is an inspiring reminder of his extraordinary impact of selflessness”.
