At the weekend, three members of Isle of Man Pony Club gained personal bests at the Pony Club Area Winter Triathlon in Yorkshire.
The three girls representing the island at the event in Skipton were Bonnie White, Rowan Thompson and Sirona Thompson.
All three have recently moved up to the Junior section (U15’s) and this brought changes to each discipline.
Triathlon
For the swim, they had to swim for three minutes as far as they can go and each metre swam earns points.
This is followed by shooting one handed – it was two previously which is a totally different technique – 7m from a turning target.
The target turns to show the card and back again in four seconds. In that time they have to lift their gun, take aim, fire and bring the gun back down to the table.
After the shooting is the run, which was 1500m of cross country.
All three set personal bests, with Rowan finishing 4th, Bonnie 5th and Siri 6th in the Area 4 competition.
