Pharmacy group looking for an additional use to dispense

An island based pharmaceutical company is planning to develop a robotic dispensing service in the south.

Kinglsey Muti has applied for a change of use on a warehouse in Balthane Industrial Estate for collection of Manx Care and private prescriptions as well as consultation rooms.

It says the business is being funded by shareholders and has ‘experts’ in pharmacy, finance and property development.

The warehouse plans include a factory space, four offices and a gym.

The company which is based in Balthane Industrial Estate is set to increase medicine resilience on the Island.

Kingsley Muti has two parts to the business which it hopes will benefit Manx residents.

The first with it being a wholesaler of medicines, meaning it can sell prescriptions to any pharmacy on the Island and increase the supply chain.

The second being the on Island care and distributing of medicines – which can be delivered to your home or picked up on site.

In December, Energy FM spoke to one of Kingsley Muti’s Director, Nick Kaye, who himself is Chair of the National Pharmacy Association.

The facility will have an Meditech Robot which is able to deliver 100,000 prescriptions per month.

The robot is set to revolutionise the efficiency of stock control and allow for stock to not go out of date.

It hopes to give customers security in being able to get their medicine.

The onsite warehouse will hold an excess of stock, to prevent a shortage of medicine and ultimately prevent prescriptions being unavailable.
