A planning application for Strathallan Crescent in Douglas which had been a mystery to islanders after documents weren’t uploaded has been cleared up.
The application was for the change of use for operating centre/parking of vehicles in connection with Department of Infrastructure at Strathallan Horse Tram Depot.
However, when it was published on February 9, no documents were attached, leading to some bizarre theories online.
The site is the patch of land next to the Terminus Tavern.
Despite this, the actual truth is that Department of Infrastructure is now required to obtain permission to park HGV vehicles at an operating centre.
The DoI confirmed that vehicles have been parked on the site before the application, but not since January 1 2024 when changes were introduced.
