Mannin Retail Ltd has submitted plans to expand its Spar shop in Anagh Coar.
The application, prepared by agents Architecture in Mann wants to extend the entrance foyer and add to the side of the building.
It set the work to the side would create space for goods in/store and staff accommodation, and installation of solar array.
In a covering letter, the agents stated: “Anagh Coar Spar is a very busy convenience store.
“The proposal is to extend the building in two directions to improve its visual appearance and enable the layout of the current shop to be rationalised to facilitate the store providing an enhanced offering to the local community.”
The plans include a 75m² extension to form a new back-of-house area and a 35m² extension to the front to provide “a dual access entrance foyer where flowers etc can be displayed”.
The proposed development would create an additional 110 square metres of retail floor space and the solar panels would be in use for up to nine months a year.
