Public Plea Following Dog Attacks on Sheep

A member of the public has made a plea to the public following a number of dog attacks on sheep in Maughold.

Aalish Crowe made a public please saying that many farmers have had multiple dog attacks on sheep in the dhoon and maughold area, resulting in the loss of many sheep.

As well as loose dogs, Aalish highlighted an ongoing issue of gates not being shut, which she says plays massively into this issue and livestock escaping.

Put Them on a Lead

Aalish added: “There is no exception for this, if you want your dog to have a run off the lead you should find a suitable place.

“I have many graphic images of the consequences we have had to face for other people’s carelessness which cannot continue. Please stick to the footpath, close gates behind you and keep your dog on the lead.

“Before anyone comments, the police are well informed on the matter and this is just one of the very few steps we can take to protect the livestock.”
