Manx residents say they are again facing issues using Vinted, despite the platform’s integrated postage system being reinstated earlier this year following intervention from Digital Isle of Man.
Users report that newly created accounts are being incorrectly registered as based in France, causing problems when listing items or setting delivery options.
Others say Manx phone numbers are being rejected, forcing them to use UK numbers to verify their accounts.
There are also fresh complaints about InPost labels, with buyers and sellers saying the labels sometimes fail to generate or scan, making postage unreliable and leading to cancelled sales.
The problems come only months after the Department for Enterprise confirmed that Vinted’s mailing option had been restored for island users.
The latest issues have left many users frustrated, saying the platform remains inconsistent for Manx sellers who rely on it to reach wider markets.
Workable Resoltion
In a statement to Manx.News, a spokesperson for DfE said: “As previously reported, the Department, through Digital Isle of Man, has previously engaged with Vinted and relevant stakeholders to help address barriers experienced by Island users in respect of integrated mailing options. Having now been made aware that users are experiencing further difficulties, we will engage with the relevant stakeholders to better understand the issues and explore whether a workable resolution can be found.
“While the Department cannot guarantee that every issue reported through the Global Digital Access initiative can be resolved, we will endeavour to raise concerns with the appropriate organisations and support efforts to find solutions wherever possible.
“We encourage individuals and businesses experiencing difficulties accessing global digital platforms to report them through the Global Digital Access webpage. These reports help us understand the nature and scale of the barriers facing Island users and inform our engagement with platforms and other stakeholders.”
