A petition has been launched which calls for a public referendum on whether an onshore wind farm should be instated at Earystane.
Manx Utilities plans on building ‘Cair Vie Windfarm Project’ in the south of the island.
MU’s plans have disgruntled many members of the southern community for the impact it’ll have on local wildlife.
Referendum?
John Anslow’s petition asks for the the voices of those directly impacted by the windfarm to be heard.
At the time of writing, the petition had gather 680 signatures.
John says encourages the Government to “explore alternative energy solutions that are in harmony with our environment and long-term sustainable goals”.
