The final open day of the season for Ramsey’s Queens Pier saw £437.56 raised for the charity’s restoration fund.
Despite fears over awful weather, it stayed dry albeit very windy.
The charity said its supporters came out in a good, steady flow through the three hours it was open with the pier’s train as busy as its fundraisers serving their cakes, biscuits, and hot drinks.
It added: “The stiff winds didn’t deter you, and for this, we are eternally grateful. We raised £437.56 through the donation buckets, SumUp machine and merchandise sales, thank you one and all.:
The Trust also gave a special thank you to volunteer Annie.
It said: “From May – September Annie volunteered to help serve refreshments on our Sunday Open days with our Fundraisers. This was to help towards her Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
“A big commitment, Thank you and Well done Annie Let’s not forget to thank ALL our volunteers that also gave up a lot of their time to make the Sunday Open Days possible.”
The trust will host a Christmas switch on event later in the year to bring in the season.
