The Sporting & Dining Club’s annual Question of Sport quiz has raised £6,000 for two island charities,
It follows its latest event held last September with sponsorship support from PwC Isle of Man.
Now in its 14th year, the popular quiz brings together teams from across the business community for an evening of friendly competition and networking.
Standard Bank Offshore emerged as this year’s winners, taking home the coveted Silver Claret Jug.
Fundraising
The event generated £5,015 on the night, with PwC Isle of Man contributing an additional £985.
Each charity, the Manx Family Centre and the Isle of Man Foodbank, will receive £3,000.
Johann Marais, Corporate Responsibility Leader at PwC Isle of Man, said the firm was proud to support an event that channels funds directly into community services.
“Question of Sport offers a fantastic chance to contribute vital funds to two deserving causes,” he said.
“This time, we’re focusing on the Manx Family Centre, previously known as The Family Library, who provide essential educational and wellbeing services for young children and families.”
John Wannenburgh of The Sporting & Dining Club added: “It is an honour to host the annual Question of Sport event and bring together the island’s business community. I’m delighted with the funds raised for both charities, including my charity of choice, the Isle of Man Foodbank.”
The next Question of Sport event will take place on Thursday, September 3.
