Zeds Bedding and the Blue Moon Gift Shop in Ramsey are nearing their fundraising target in joint mission to buy a specialist cuddle bed for Hospice Isle of Man.
The businesses have reached over £12,000 of the £15,000 target, or 80% of the total.
The two businesses, led by Cat from Blue Moon and Ady from Zeds Bedding, launched the fundraiser after their own experiences of Hospice care and after speaking with staff about how transformative the bed could be for families.
A cuddle bed allows loved ones to lie safely beside a patient during palliative care, offering closeness and comfort at the most tender moments.
The beds are fully certified for two people, making them increasingly valued in hospices across the UK.
Cat says they are hugely grateful to everyone who has donated so far, but acknowledges that many supporters have already given multiple times.
The pair are now looking for fresh ways to raise the final £3,000, and are even inviting anyone who feels able to make a single “grand gesture”, anonymously or not, to help complete the appeal.
