Ramsey RNLI Rescue Two From Dinghy

Ramsey RNLI were called to the aid of a three meter inflatable dinghy with two people on board.

The Ramsey crew was paged by Belfast Coastguard shortly after 6pm yesterday (August 26) evening.

The volunteer lifeboat crew of the all-weather RNLB Ann and James Ritchie 2, under the command of Coxswain Jason Colley, launched at 6:19pm and reached the casualty only six minutes later at 6:25pm.

After establishing those onboard were unharmed they were brought back to Ramsey Harbour.

The dinghy was approximately one mile away from the harbour entrance, and at the time of the incident sea conditions were slight with a moderate south westerly wind.

The lifeboat was recovered at 7:15pm, washed down and made ready for service.
