Reminder of vehicle restrictions on TT Access Road

When the TT Course is closed for practice or racing the TT Access Road on Peel Road, Douglas is available for vehicular transit between the inside and the outside of the TT Course.

It is to be used by vehicles under 3,500 Kg and under 3.35m in height, this permission includes cyclists.

The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) reminds the public that pedestrians are not permitted.

There is a traffic light system in place with DOI staff on hand to manually operate the lights to ensure traffic flows are maintained and to also ensure emergency service access, particularly to and from Nobles Hospital is prioritised.

It had received a report that during practice session earlier this week a motorist made disparaging remarks to a cyclist using the Access Road about them being on the road.

To be clear cyclists are perfectly within their rights to use this route.
