Richard Hawley will make his debut Manx performance on August 30 at the Gaiety Theatre as Triskel Promotions return to the venue.
Hawley is probably best known for his time in Indie band Longpigs however stints with Pulp and Elbow as guitarist certainly raised his public persona and profile.
He then went solo which was to be his best career move.
Richard Hawley
He has collaborated with Arctic Monkeys, Paul Weller, The Manics, Duane Eddy, Shirley Bassey, Nancy Sinatra, Martin Carthy, Lisa Marie Presley and the late Norma Waterson.
His last album “In The City They Call You Love” was top five and he is currently touring the UK and Ireland with a full band playing his inaugural break-through album Coles Cprner in it’s entirety.
He is however, stripping the entire stage show down to an acoustic duo with long time partner Shez Sheridan offering a refined depth to each song.
To The Gaiety
Huge songs like “The Ocean”, “Born Under A Bad Sign”( a nod to his father) and “Coles Corner” will be played to the audience at the Gaiety.
He also plays a stunning version of “The Ellan Vannin Tragedy” that he has ironically previously performed with the Smoke Faeries.
Long time fan and local musicians Simon Rea and Jeff Jepson are Truman Falls are the lucky recipients of the support slot.
The final few tickets are available from the VillaGaiety Box Office 600555 or by clicking here.
