The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is urging members of the public to let them know if you’re planning on having a bonfire.
It follows a call last night where Douglas fire crews were called to a “false alarm” in Onchan.
The fire turned out to be a controlled bonfire but the emergency services joint control room had not been informed so had to treat it as an incident.
If you are going to have a bonfire please inform control on 697327 prior to and when finished to reduce false alarm calls.
Incident
At the same time as the bonfire, Douglas crews were also called to a house fire in Onchan.
A small fire had started in the bathroom due to a possible electrical fault, power was isolated and the fire extinguished.
