Derbyhaven Road has been closed as a “precautionary measure” while authorities respond to an incident at Ronaldsway.
The Department of Infrastructure has confirmed that flights are unaffected.
Contractors working on the runway drainage project “disturbed buried items which require further investigation,” a department spokesperson said.
The Fire and Rescue Service is in attendance to “make the area safe.”
Despite the disruption, flights remain “unaffected,” and passengers have been advised to “arrive at the airport as normal.”
A further update will be provided “in due course,” officials said.
No additional details have been released at this time.
