A week today will see several road closures in place for the Festival of Motoring Parade.
On Sunday, September 22 the Festival of Motoring Parade will see 350 “Best of British” cars visit the Isle of Man to take part in various events Island wide.
The Isle of Man Constabulary will be supporting the parade to minimise disruption and ensure the event passes safely.
Road Closures
Glencrutchery Road:
From 9am Glencrutchery Road will be closed to all southbound traffic from the Greenfield Road junction, to the junction of St Ninians traffic lights.
The road will be re-opened no later than 11am.
Mooragh Promenade:
From 9am Mooragh Promenade will be closed from Vollan Crescent to near to the junction of Premier Road.
The road will be re-opened no later than 4:30pm.
Mountain Road:
From 12pm, the Mountain Road will close from Ramsey through to the Creg Ny Baa. Access to the Victory cafe will be maintained via the Tholt Y Will Road. Access to the Creg Ny Baa will maintained via Creg Ny Baa backroad and from the Hilberry direction.
The Mountain Road will open no later than 5pm.
Possible Travel Disruption
At 10am a parade of approx 350 vehicles will leave the Grandstand and follow the TT course through to Ramsey.
Police will be supporting this parade to ensure its safe, and to minimise disruption caused along the route.
It’s expected however that there will be some delays at the various junctions as the parade passes through, and the police will endeavour to clear traffic as promptly as possible.
