The Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann has become one of only two in the North West to achieve ShelterBox Rotary Partner Club status.
The status has been awarded as recognition of the financial support to ShelterBox in 2024 and 2025.
Rotary Club President David Scott said: “We are grateful for the generosity of local residents donations to our Charitable Trust.
“Your fantastic support has enabled us to donate £2,000 to ShelterBox to support communities in desperate need of shelter after a disaster.”
Special Status
David added: “Recently ShelterBox has been there for people affected by the earthquakes in Myanmar, the conflict in Gaza and Hurricane Beryl in the Caribbean.”
ShelterBox began in 2000 as a Cornish Rotary Club’s millennium project.
With the support of Rotary members and clubs around the world, ShelterBox grew to become an internationally recognised, independent disaster relief organisation.
Since 2012, ShelterBox and Rotary have been official Project Partners in disaster relief.
Each year, Rotary helps ShelterBox to go further, support more people and access areas that would otherwise be impossible to reach.
