The Port Erin branch of the Royal British Legion has secured its future as new volunteers stepped into vital roles.
There had been concerns it may have to close after long serving members stepped down.
At a meeting last night, Barry Bridson, was confirmed as the new chairman while Pheric Thrussell was selected as secretary and and Valerie Wood as Treasurer.
They will be supported by seven other members of the committee.
Branch President Juan Watterson SHK said: “It may take us a little while to get our plans together, but look out for events in 2025 and do your bit to help where you can. It’s all for an excellent cause.
“Tonight was the embodiment of the RBL motto of Service, not self. I look forwforward to working with the team over the coming year.”
He also thanked outgoing Chair Sheila Pilling “for over a decade of service as chair and five years prior to that as secretary” as well as Stan for masterminding the Poppy Appeal.
