Some of Manannan’s scheduled sailings to Liverpool over the next week have been changed due to silting around the berth at the government’s terminal in Merseyside.
The changes to sailings are a result of arrival and departure times coinciding with low water, compounded by the effect of silting under the linkspan pontoon.
This causes alignment issues with the vessel’s stern ramp and prevents safe loading or unloading.
The affected sailings are on April 27, 28 and 29.
Changes to sailings are as follows:
27th – Douglas to Liverpool PM sailing- will now depart 4:30pm arrive 7:15pm – Return sailing 8:30pm
28th – Douglas to Liverpool PM sailing – will now depart 5pm arrive 8pm – Return sailing 9:15pm
29th – Douglas to Liverpool PM sailing – will now depart 1:30pm arrive 4:15pm – Return sailing 6pm

A spokesperson said: “Isle of Man Steam Packet Company is working with the Isle of Man Department of Infrastructure and Peel Ports to ensure a robust programme of dredging is conducted to avoid future occurrences.
“Passengers on any sailings affected are being contacted via text or email to inform them of any changes to plans. Where changes mean passengers are unable to travel on their original bookings, full refunds or amends will be made free of charge.
“The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this situation.”
