Northern AC athlete Sam Perry, now studying at Loughborough University, was back on the track last week at the Bannister Mile BMC Meeting in Oxford.
The event also featured leading names including Laura Muir.
Racing in his club vest, Perry won the C race in a tight finish, clocking 4:13.10.
He required brief medical attention immediately afterwards but recovered quickly, no surprise for an athlete known for emptying the tank every time he competes.
Perry was interviewed afterwards wearing his Guernsey 2023 Island Games leisure gear, and explains what happened as well as his plans for the season.
