Scoill Phurt le Moirrey Wins National Mental Health Award

Scoill Phurt le Moirrey has been recognised for its work supporting pupils’ mental health and wellbeing after winning a Happiness Heroes award at myHappymind LIVE 2026 in Manchester.

The award was presented as part of the wellbeing programme’s 10th anniversary celebrations and recognises how pupils have embraced the myHappymind initiative and used its lessons to support both their own mental health and that of others.

The programme is designed to help children develop resilience, confidence and positive relationships through practical wellbeing strategies.

Simon Murphy, Executive Headteacher of Scoill Phurt le Moirrey and Rushen Primary School, said: “We’re incredibly proud of our children and the way they’ve embraced the programme. For us, it’s about giving children the tools to ‘know what to do, when they don’t know what to do’.

“It takes a village to raise a child, and we’re fortunate to be part of some wonderful villages — from our own school communities and the wider Isle of Man education community to the partners who work alongside us, including the myHappymind family. Working together to help children thrive is what really matters.”

The award recognises the efforts of both pupils and staff in making wellbeing a key part of school life, alongside the school’s commitment to helping children thrive academically and personally.
