Some of the Isle of Man’s leading young performers in traditional music, song and dance will reunite for a one-night concert celebrating Manx culture.
Scran and Friends takes place on February 13 at the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall, bringing together three standout acts who have recently represented the island on major international stages, including London’s Royal Albert Hall, the Festival Interceltique de Lorient in Brittany and folk festivals in Morocco.
The evening is led by teenage band Scran, known for blending Manx tradition with contemporary energy.
Manx Evening
They will be joined by vocal ensemble Skeealyn Vannin, praised for their innovative interpretations of Manx song, and Skeddan Jiarg, a leading force in the revival of Manx dance, fresh from performing at Africa’s largest folk dance festival in Marrakech.
Culture Vannin said the concert highlights the strength of Manx culture at home and abroad, while organisers at the VillaGaiety described the event as a proud and uplifting celebration of the island’s creative talent.
