Rushen United kept their bid to retain the Manx FA Cup on track this weekend after beating Ramsey 3-2.

Last season’s beat their northern rivals 3-2 in an excting game at Croit Lowey.

Goals from Danny Lane and Arron Hawley were matched by two from Ramsey’s Tom Chatel and Dylan Pickles but sub Joe Reid scored late on to book a semi final spot for Rushen.

Elsewhere in the cup, Ayre beat Laxey 1-0 through a Harry Best goal and Union Mills beat St Mary’s by the same scoreline thanks to a long range strike from Dominic McHarrie-Brennan.

The other quarterfinal game saw Foxdale brush aside Division Two Colby, you can read Upfront Footy’s coverage of that game here.

The semi final draw sees Union Mills host Ayre and Rushen face Foxdale, those games will be played on March 22.

A Good Point?

One of the better 0-0 draws in Manx football saw Onchan and St George’s leave with a point each on Saturday.

With few real chances created, those that were, were dealt with well by keepers Cal Dawson and Ben Wilkinson.

The point is probably better for Geordies, they are still one point behind Onchan but have a game in hand going into the final weeks of their relegation battle.

The other games in the top flight saw Corinthians win 2-0 against Marown and Peel brush aside St John’s winning 0-6.

Division Two

Just two games were played in the Ardern and Druggan Division Two with Michael winning 1-4 at Douglas & District and Pulrose losing 0-6 at home to Braddan.

Governors were awarded a walk over win against Malew while Castletown’s game at home to Douglas Royal was postponed due to an apparently unfit pitch.
