The Lancashire team to contest the Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships at Wollaton Park in Nottingham on Saturday, March 9 includes six athletes from the Isle of Man across various age groups.
Unusually, in fact for the first time I can remember, it is an all-male representation, with Rachael Franklin unavailable that weekend.
The Manx representation in the Lancashire team will be as follows:
- Senior Men – Ollie Lockley, Alan Corlett
- U17 Men – Sam Perry, Lucas Stennett
- U15 Boys – Harry Stennett
- U13 Boys – Seamus Hall
Well done to all, and a particular well done to Seamus who will be making his debut at this level of competition – an excellent achievement in his first year in the U13 age group.
Inter-Counties
Before the Inter-Counties we have a number of local athletes travelling to Shropshire this coming Saturday for the English National Cross-Country Championships.
We are in the middle of an unusually long hiatus in local fixtures, with a three-week gap between the Snaefell & Tholtans fell race last weekend and the next event which is the 20-mile championships at the NSC organised by IOM Veterans on Sunday, March 3.
This gap allows officials a well-earned break and competitors the opportunity to get stuck into hard training!
