Ray Sloane has announced he intends to stand in the by-election for Douglas Council.
A vacant seat for the council’s north ward came about after the retirement of Janet Thommeny.
Mr Sloane, who previously served on Marown Commissioners, said he is seeking nominations and seconders to contest the seat.
He said: “If you would be willing to support my candidacy then please contact me as soon as possible so I can arrange a convenient time to visit you and get your signature.
“I have previous experience having served as a Commissioner in Marown between 2016 and 2021. I also have over 30 years experience in a variety of roles in central government.”
