The Southern Swimming Pool has launched a Community Splash, a new initiative offering free swimming for children.
The programme has been made possible through the sponsorship of the Southern Authorities Healthcare Trust.
Children that are in Reception through to Year 3 and attend Arbory, Ballasalla, Rushen, Scoill Phurt Le Moirrey, Victoria Road, and The Buchan primary schools are eligible.
Free Swimming
Children under eight must be accompanied in the water by an adult aged 16 or over.
By providing a free pass card, the initiative eases financial pressure on families while encouraging children to gain confidence and enjoy the water.
Community Splash will run from June 28 of this year until August 31, 2026.
The programme’s success will be assessed through attendance figures, with potential for continued sponsorship beyond the initial period.
The Southern Swimming Pool Board thanked the Southern Authorities Healthcare Trust for making this initiative possible.
