Manx triathlete Will Draper has turned in an outstanding performance at Challenge Roth, taking 11th place in the professional field in only his second long‑distance race.
He crossed the line in 7 hours 45 minutes, mixing it with some of the most experienced long‑course athletes in the world.
This year’s event was staged on a huge scale, featuring 5,000 athletes, 7,500 volunteers and an estimated 300,000 spectators lining the course.
There were strong Manx results in the age group race too. Kristan King, Alison King and Fiona Gell all battled through a European heatwave that forced a non‑wetsuit swim, finishing in:
- Kristan King: 10:26
- Alison King: 12:30
- Fiona Gell: 13:32
The Manx Tri Club said all four athletes delivered impressive performances in tough conditions and hoped they enjoyed the celebrations afterwards.
